BABA
SAHIB DR. AMBEDKAR
BIRTH DAY CELEBRATED AT BEDFORD
Report
:
Arun
Kumar, Bedford
On
Sunday 29th May, 120th birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar
was jointly celebrated by Dr. Ambedkar Mission Society,
Bedford, Sri Guru Ravidas Sabha Bedford and Bhagwan Valmik
Sabha Bedford at Bedford. From the last few years these
organisations are trying to bring all communities on one
platform so that in future they are able to work on common
issues. Due to this initiative, a large number of people
from various communities from all over the country came
to pay tributes to Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar. The theme of
this event was caste based discrimination.
Mr.
Om Parkash, President of Sri Guru Ravidas Sabha Bedford
welcomed all guests and opened the function. Paying tribute
to Dr. Ambedkar, Mr. Sat Paul stated, “The dream
of Dr. Ambedkar would be only fulfilled when the castes
are abolished. Racial discrimination in the West and apartheid
in South Africa have been abolished, now the caste needs
to be eradicated.” Inspired from the ideals of Dr.
Ambedkar, many organisations campaigned to include caste
discrimination in the British legislation. Dr. Raj Chand,
vice President, Anti Caste Discrimination Alliance gave
a presentation on the history and the current situation
of the Equality Act. He explained that now the government’s
own survey confirmed the existence of caste discrimination
in the UK but Government seems to be reluctant to accept
the findings of the report. He stressed on the need for
solidarity and keep on campaigning until the objective
is achieved. He congratulated Bedford organisations for
setting an example in that direction.
Councillor
Mohamed Yasin, Speaker of the Bedford Borough Council
was surprised to know the greatness of Dr. Ambedkar. He
said, “Being born into an oppressed community, to
become a first Law Minister of independent India and write
its constitution was a marvellous achievement. Dr. Ambedkar
didn’t use his education for himself but the whole
community. That is what makes him unique amongst others.
To create a fair society based on his ideals would be
a true tribute to him.”
Quoting
from Prof. S.K. Thorat’s report on caste discrimination
in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi,
Mr. Arun Kumar explained that though various provisions
to outlaw caste discrimination were made in the Indian
constitution, but they have become only show case for
the outer World. A film ‘Death of Merit’ was
shown where Dalit students in the premier institutes were
tortured and discriminated in such a way that they are
forced to commit suicides and this trend is increasing
day by day. Dalits are systematically discouraged to enter
into higher education. This film was well received.
Mr.
Ram Murti Suman, President of Federation of Ambedkarite
& Buddhist Organisations, UK stated, “True Ambedkarism
is to fight against caste and until or unless caste is
there, discrimination would remain. Ambedkarites in the
UK have been campaigning against caste discrimination
for the last the forty years but people have just begun
to realise the effect of castes. I am happy that message
has gone through. Barriers need to be broken.” The
Chief Guest, Mr. Vidya Bhushan Ravat, a Human rights campaigner,
film maker and Ambedkarite writer termed Ambedkarism as
a concept to unite people not to divide. He referred to
a new concept not only in UP but also in all India of
portraying an icon from a caste and worshipping him or
her. He further stated that, “By doing so they are
strengthening caste and Brahmanism. Instead of uniting
they are getting divided which is a very disturbing development
and that concept is an anti Ambedkarism. He travelled
various countries. People talk about civil rights movement
and King Martin Luther Junior but not many know about
Ambedkar. It is our duty especially NRIs to make aware
the people of the World about the contribution he made
to uplift the oppressed people. He advised that Dalits
must not depend upon on government jobs only. They should
become entrepreneurs and start businesses. They should
be in all fields. On positive note, he suggested to celebrate
our achievements. Due to Dr. Ambedkar’s efforts,
Dalits are now at high positions in all fields but a lot
to be done. Talking on land grab movement, he said that
Dalits’ land had already been grabbed on the name
of development.
Dr.
Diepisiye Kuku, a sociologist from America who spent several
years at Delhi University talked about his experiences
as a black American and the civil rights movement in USA.
He compared the civil rights movement with the Dalit movement.
He was shocked to see the agitation by doctors with brooms
in their hands against reservation in medical institutes
in Delhi. The doctors were suggesting that if Dalits became
doctors, only cleaning jobs would be left for upper castes.
He said that this type of attitude from upper castes reminded
him about the treatment of black people meted out by the
white people in America. R.L. Sampla, Dharm Pal Nahar,
Mrs. Raj Dhariwal, Mrs. Nirmala Chahal and many others
spoke on the occasions. Sat Paul, Sam Kalyan and Arun
Kumar conducted the programme. A ladies group from Bhagwan
Valmik Sabha, Gianni Gurmit Singh and group from Sri Guru
Ravidas Sabha, and Mr. K.L. Chand recited missionary songs
and entertained the audience. Posted

London
(14th April)- 120th birth anniversary of Babasaheb
Dr. Ambedkar was celebrated at India House by the High Commissioner
of India in cooperation with the Federation of Ambedkarite
& Buddhist Organisations, UK (FABO,UK). On this auspicious
occasion, many dignitaries from all over the country including
Mayors from London boroughs, Cllr Nirmal Singh Gill of Barking
and Degenham, Cllr Harbhajan Singh of Brent Cllr Christina
Valcarcel of Lambeth and Cllr Jagjit Singh Grewal of Slough
Council, were present. Representatives of various organizations
such as Shri Guru Ravidass Sabhas, Sri Guru Ravidass International
Organisation for Human Rights UK, Ambedkar International
Mission, Sri Bhagwan Valmik Sabha, BSP Overseas of UK, Shri
Guru Ravidass Supreme Council of UK were present. Other
distinguished guests were Kantibhai Solanki, former minister
for social welfare, Gujarat and Vijaybhai Rathod, business
entrepreneur from Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Celebrations commenced
with the garlanding of Babasaheb’s bust by the High
Commissioner of India, Mr. Nalin Surie and the Chief Guest,
Sir Mota Singh, former Judge of British High Court. The
Ambedkar bust was donated by FABO, UK during the Ambedkar
Centenary year in 1992.
The
function was opened by the Buddhist prayers administered
by the Most Rev. Dr. Sumana. He mentioned that the senior
monks present at the great conversion to Buddhism by Dr.
Ambedkar were associated with him for 3-4 decades. Dr, Ambedkar
was one of the illustrious sons of Mother India and stands
tall in the struggle for modern India.
Expressing
his pride in jointly celebrating Ambedkar birth anniversary,
the High Commissioner of India, Mr. Nalin Surie said, “Dr.
Ambedkar shaped the constitution of India in which we witness
today the socio-economic change in the development. He was
one of the great geniuses of India. For political democracy
to be successful, it must be founded on social democracy.
The constitution he helped to write permits us to achieve
this. Babasaheb is not limited to India alone but its underlying
message of ensuring justice, and social, economic and political
equality for all in the society now widely acknowledged
all over the world.”
Welcoming
the guests, Gira Chakravarty of FABO UK emphasized that
Babasaheb Ambedkar was not only a pathfinder, saviour and
emancipator but also a famous leader of the national freedom
movement. Social justice and human rights ideals in his
practical approach of struggle raised him above the leaders
at his time. He had a special place in society. His qualities
were multi-faceted and his accomplishments made him a great
social reformist, philosopher and legend in legal affairs.
She
said, “Dr Ambedkar’s struggle against caste
oppression in India was relatively more scientific. His
approach was down-to-earth. He went deeper and deeper in
criticising and evaluating the root cause of the issue which
provided cultural and social basis to the caste system in
India. That is why his contribution matters a lot! He was
not an atheist, but he was not a victim of blind faith.
He converted to Buddhism, a way of human living and provides
a basis for a caste-less society.”
The
Chief Guest, Sir Mota Singh, QC termed Dr. Ambedkar as a
symbol for social justice. He said, “The drafting
of Indian constitution itself is a monument of his genius.
He was the founder of fundamental rights and social revolution.
I salute him today on his 120th birth anniversary and his
dream may fulfill by implementing his ideals in the coming
years. He recalled the grand celebration which took place
at Gray's Inn during Dr. Ambedkar centenary celebration
in 1990.”
Paying
his tribute to Dr. Ambedkar, Prof. Muhammad Arif of London
School of Economics said,
“Babasaheb belongs to a group of great people who
changed the course of history. He was an outstanding intellectual,
moral and political leader. His life was full of hardship
as he portrayed in his writings and speeches but he was
resilient, courageous and had faith in the ultimate success
of his mission. He had faith in the invincible power of
the human spirit in the pursuit of justice and human dignity
as he pointed out in one of his speeches. ‘educate,
agitate and organize: have faith in yourself. With justice
on our side I do not see how we can lose our battle.’
Although his message was revolutionary, he believed in non-violence
and felt that the struggle for equality should be waged
at the political, moral and constitutional levels. He believed
in the orderly removal of inequality”.
“Babasaheb’s
invaluable gift to India was the Indian constitution. The
constitution he gave was democratic, secular and had universal
adult suffrage without any discrimination. His social philosophy
as he put it was enshrined in three words: liberty, equality
and fraternity. Many people, perhaps, do not know that these
concepts were Indian concepts and were embodied in the teaching
of the Buddha, these words of wisdom were uttered around
500BC, and therefore not borrowed from the French Revolution.”
Elaborating
on the origin of democracy, Mr. Vijay Khutan, Senior Crown
Prosecutor and meditation teacher, explained that Dalits
gave democracy to the World. They were the ones who brought
it forth . He further stated that there was enough evidence
to show that Buddha was born in a democracy. In fact Alexandra,
the Great of Greece was astonished to see how the free man
and democracy was functioning in India. 5000 years back
during the Indus Valley civilization, the town planning
and large assembly halls reflected a powerful equality in
governance. Mr. Khuttan observed that those people were
spiritually and socially more advanced than the modern society.
Mr.
Satpal Muman, General Secretary of Ambedkar International
Mission, London introduced Mr. S Anand of Navayana Publishing
House and an Adivasi artist couple, Subhash and Durgabai
Vyam who produced a book ‘Bhimayana (experience of
unaccountability) in which they depicted the life of Dr.
Ambedkar with Gothic art. Mr. S. Anand told that the book
was launched in collaboration with One World Action and
Nehru Centre and was very much impressed by the response
it received. He quoted from the book the famous quote of
Babasaheb ''Battle of Human Personality'. He identified
himself as one of the true children of “Ambedkar era.”
Mr. Yograj Ahir, President, Sri Guru Ravidass Sabha, Southall
also spoke. Mr. R M Summan, President of Federation of Ambedkarites
and Buddhist Organizations, UK recited a Punjabi poem and
also proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was proficiently
anchored by Gira Chakaravarti. At the end of the function,
Indian vegetarian food was served by the courtesy of the
High Commissioner of India. Posted

BORN
'UNTOUCHABLE', HE FOUGHT FOR FREEDOM AND EMANCIPATION
OF ALL CASTES AND HELPED TO DRAFT THE CONSTITUTION
OF INDIA
• Editorial
• The Guardian, Saturday 30 April 2011
• Article history
Among the most tiresome of all observations made about the
royal wedding was that it represented some kind of triumph
of social mobility. The new Duchess of Cambridge is the
great-great-granddaughter of a coalminer, runs this story,
and her mother worked as an air hostess. Never mind that
she also went to Marlborough College. Such cant brings to
mind a more potent example of social mobility – and
of that mobility being put to significant purpose. Bhimrao
Ramji Ambedkar was born in 1891, an untouchable in an India
run by the British – that is to say a subaltern twice
over, subjugated by an imperial government and by high-caste
Indians. He died in 1956, with doctorates from Columbia
University and the LSE. Most importantly, he will be remembered
as the emancipator of other untouchables and the jurist
in charge of drafting the constitution of the Indian republic.
Ambedkar fought for a free India, and for the freedom of
all castes within that state. He sought advancement not
just for himself, nor for those like him, but also for Brahmins,
Muslims, Sikhs and Buddhists. His time at the bar in London
and at the LSE, but most of all his sterling example, surely
make him more than deserving of public memorial here. "How
long shall we continue to deny equality in our social and
economic life?" asked Ambedkar. "If we continue
to deny it for long, we will do so only by putting our political
democracy in peril." His message, intended for 20th-century
India, is just as relevant for 21st-century Britain.

A
prominent freedomfighter who planted a tree of Aad-Dharami
Qaum. It is sure, one day must come and there will
be an Aadi-vassidom. DALIT-E-ANKHI
GADHRI BABA MANGU RAM MUGGOWALIA JEE
Respected

Brother Prem Chumber ji, Ambedkartimes group
Sohang
Jai Gurdev ji !!
A
qaum who had a well developed, rich and older culture where
there was (an equality, librty and fraternity) humanity.
Inhabitants of this civilisation called aadivassi who had
aad-dharam ideology. That civilised ideology exists in the
sindhuGhati Civilisation. In that civilisation, aryans (who
were illitrate, cruel, dishonest, frauder and slaughters)
came from outside the Bharata. They begged from aadivassi
for shelter. Aadivassi who trusted in humanity, by their
goodness, they provided sheltr. By the passing of time these
aryans started (mischieves, dishonestings, cruelty) inhuman
behaviour with Aadivassi, got empowerment in their hand
and strted to rule inhuman manners. After that they divided
man into four castes. Mannu wrote Manusmriti, they named
themselves good class and shudra (untouchable) to aadivassi
(very low caste). Since then the proseperous civilisation
of aadivassi was finished and started inhuman behaviour
of aryans manuvadi ideology.
By
the passing of sufferings, the time had been entered in
the 9th decade of 19th century. When there was born a child
to his mother Smt. Attri and father Sh Harnam Das Gangar
in the village of Muggowa, tehsil mahalpurin, district Hoshiarpur,
Punjab in the addivassi qaum. He got elementry education
from a village sadhu. He also learned English to help his
father' in his business. He went to America in 1909. There
he saw, also, a same Indian discrimination ideology from
a Punjabi Zimidar. There he joined Lala Hardyal's ghadrits
party. He was a group leader who had a very hard task to
bring weapons by ship to India. But unfortunately, British
govt got information about that ship. British army attacked
on that ship by cannons and many persons were died. But
fortunately Baba Mangu R Muggowalia jee had a narrow escaped.
In the last, Babu Mangu Ram ji came to his native village
after sixteen years.
A
man who came from America where he saw civilised culture
but in his own country discrimination by the cruel discriminators.
One day when he knew about discrimination and bullism by
his own villager zimindar, with his relatives. Then Babu
jee awoked up and talked to a advocate. Then advocate advised
him to select any other name besides of the ashoot (untouchable).
So Babu ji did according to the advocate's advised. He started
school in his village. But on 11 and 12 jun of 1926, Babu
ji called all dalit samaaj and discussed about the new point
of view. On this day He planted a seed of (a lit of their
aadi guruss and ancestor's equality, fraternity ideology)
AAD-DHARAM (aadi-matt) in the assembling of all downtrodden
dalits smaaj. That Aad-Dharam which was (or is) very ancient
religion of ancestors than all religions. To emancipate
from hinduwad's inhuman civil system, he started a legal
fight for his dalit qaum's dignity and get rempowerment.
By this new point of views Aad-Dharam, he revived conciousness
of aadi gurus, was expanded from Lyalpur Pakistan to india
specially in Punjab, north, south east and west. Aad-dharam
mandal movement encouraged the whole dalits. Every dalit
started to consider himself as an Aad-dharmi. Aad-dharam
movement was getting his popularity among the whole united
dalit smaj. This movement (ofwhich religious granth is Aad-Parkash)
has got emancipation from brahmnical idealogy and established
an aad-dharam as a qaum and religion of real inhabitants.
In this struggle Baba Sahab Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jee had played
a vital role. So after the hard struggle of this movement
has convinced to British Govt. to register (include) as
a dalits of Punjab's Aad-Dharam religion in the next (1931)
census. By seeing this strong struggle, the British govt.
understood the origin of this country's aadivassi qaum.
Biritish govt. Had accepted this request and declared in
the next census of 1931. So by this marvelous and great
victory, Babu ji became a great political powerman. He played
a very important role during fight of Bhimrao with Gandhi
at the point of dalit's leader in the roundtable confrence
at London in 1932. Then Babu jii sent many telegram in favour
of Bhim Rao Ambedkar against Gandhi. In 1937 AadDharam got
seven seats out of eight reserved seats in the Punjab. In
Punjab, 1946 , Babu ji elected as an MLA and remained till
1952. By the passing of time, Babu ji still on his confirmed
and strong thinking about his aad-dharmi community. In 1977,
Babu ji went to U.K. by the invitation of settelled aad-dharmis
from punjab. After a long and hard struggle of his life
(either for himself or Aad-Dharmi qaum), that great spirit
departed from this world after his life visit ( of 94 yrs,
3months and 8 days) on 22 Aprill 1980.
Babu
Mangu Ram Muggowalia who was a great ghadrist, emancipator,
editor, writer, poet, ironman, a dalit hero, rooted up the
inequality slavery system, lit light of education and struggle
thinking among his qaum against brahaminwad, a pioneer political
leader who played a marvoulous role and became a massiha
of downtrodden aadivassi dalits and it will be forever.
Come whole united aadivassi qaum, wherever, whenever and
whatwver we are, dont' forget our rich civilised aadimatt.
We keep it forever and pass on our next generation to genrations.
And ther will be our Aadivassi Dom. Why we should divide,
fight ourselves? It is use less for us, by this thinking
we shoud not make a Begumpura if we continue listen to manuwadi
thinking. We must beware from these type castiests. why
we fight and greed among us. Let us try to unite and get
our aadidom which was gripped by manuwadi ideology. If we
come whole dalits under the only one flag, one plateform
without any wrong thinking, it will be sure we dalits can
make our begumpura. If we dedicate a little part of our
life at the footpaths of our great Heros then we can make
sure begumpura. As AMBEDKARTIMES GROUP IS DEDICATED TO BABA
SAHIB AMBEDKAR JI IN THE MEMORY OF BABA MANGU RAM MUGGOWALIA
FREEDOM FIGHTERS. In this point of view I appriciate Ambedkartimes
group which is a establised plateform at where all readers
and writers can express their views from various part of
the world. Properly, like this thinking it will be our real
and respectful and humble homage to BABA SAHIB MANGU RAM

DR.
AMBEDKAR, SWARAJ & NATION Prem Kumar Chumber
(www.ambedkartimes.com)
Swaraj
without extinction of caste had no meaning for Dr. Ambedkar.
In his undelivered speech to the Jat Pat Todak Mandal
of Lahore, he said, “In the fight for swaraj you
fight with the whole nation on your side. In this, you
have to fight against the whole nation and that too your
own. But it is more important than swaraj. There is no
use having swaraj, if you cannot defend it. More important
than the question of defending swaraj is the question
of defending Hindus under the swaraj. In my opinion, only
when the Hindu society becomes a casteless society that
it can hope to have strength enough to defend itself.
Without such internal strength, swaraj for Hindus may
turn out to be only a step towards slavery”. Thus,
it was Dr. Ambedkar’s subaltern perspective, which
distinguished his conception of swaraj from that of the
protagonists of the various shades of the national freedom
movement. In his editorial in the Bahishkrit Bharat, Dr.
Ambedkar wrote on 29 July 1927 “If Tilak had been
born among the untouchables, he would not have raised
the slogan ‘Swaraj is my birthright’, but
he would have raised the slogan ‘Annihilation of
untouchability is my birthright’”.
Dr.
Ambedkar’s understanding of the question of the
identity and existence of the nation was based on his
incisive analysis of the oppressive character of the Hindu
community. Since the dominant Hindu discourse of Indian
nationalism remained indifferent towards removal of the
caste system; and the economic analysis of the communist
secular socialist school also failed to highlight the
issue of caste in its mechanical interpretation of class,
Dr. Ambedkar – himself an untouchable and victim
of untouchability – formulated his own framework
from the perspective of the untouchables for the understanding
of the system of caste and untouchability. The foundations
of Dalit-Bahujan nationalism lie in this framework developed
by Dr. Ambedkar. It aimed at restructuring the Indian
society into a casteless and classless and egalitarian
Sangha. Annihilation of caste was its central theme. Caste
for Dr. Ambedkar was nothing but Brahmanism incarnate.
“Brahmanism is the poison which has spoiled Hinduism”.
Dr. Ambedkar realised that any form of nationalism whose
roots were steeped into Hinduism could not be a solution
to the problem of Dalits. Any discourse of nationalism
bereft of annihilation of caste was just not acceptable
to him. The agenda of annihilation of caste was so important
to him that it became a central point of his struggle
against colonial rule. In the first Round Table Conference,
he minced no words in criticizing the British government
for its failure to undo untouchability. Let us join our
hands to do away with such social evils by taking an oath
on the 120th birthday of Bharat Ratan Bodhisattva Babasahib
Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. The Ambedkar Times Group (Ambedkartimes.com,
Ambedkartimes.org & Ambedkar Times) congratulates
you all on this most important day in the life of the
millions of downtrodden and takes immense pride paying
floral tribute to our revered Baba Sahib, a great sociologist,
economist, political scientist, human rights advocate,
architect of the constitution of Independent India and

Baba
Ssahib Dr. Ambedkar's last message:-
Tell my people,
Nanak Chand, that whatever i have been able to achieve
for them, i have done it single-handed, passing through
crushing miseries & endless troubles, in the midst
of abuses hurled at me from all sides, more so from the
Hindu press , fighting with my opponents, all my life,
as also with a handful of my own people who deceived me
for their selfish ends. But i will continue to serve the
country & my down-trodden people till my end. With
great difficulty, i have brought the Caravan where it
is seen today. Let the Caravan march on & further
on, despite the hardles, pitfalls & difficultes that
may come its way. They must rise to the occasion, if they
want to live an honourable & respectable life. If
my people, my lieutenants are not able to take the Caravan
ahead, they should leave it where it seen today, but must
not, under any cicumstances allow the Caravan to go back.
This is my message, probably the last message in all my
seriousness, which i am sure will not go unheeded. Go
& tell them; go & tell them; go & tell them,he
repeated thrice.Posted

CONGRATULATIONS ON 120TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF BABA SAHIB DR. B. R. AMBEDKAR
Editor Mr. Prem Kumar Chumber Brother jee,
Sohang Jai Gurdev! Jai Bhim!!
A very heartiest congratulation on Baba Sahib Bhimrao Ramji
Ambedkar’s 120th birth celebration of, who was a great
philosopher, first law minister of free-India, Composer
of Indian constitution, editor, politition and aadi-vassi's
rights's founder, fighter and also a great lighter of light
(education). He had lit the lamps of down trodden people's
thinking and provided courage to fight against aryans (mannuwad)
inhumanity till does not get aadivassidom. So his three
words are very famous as Educate, Agitate and Organize.
So if dalits come under this slogan of Baba ji then it will
true and fulfill his dream. Come dalits, every where you
live in the single part of the world, dont hide your forefather's
identity AADI-MATT (ad-dharm); show yourself without any
limitation as a dalit. As aryans never show sympathy whereas
contrary they shed the blood of our forefather. Any man,
religion or qaum speaks about the discrimination, will be
the same piece of manuwad. Come altogeather, unite and take
an oath strongly to get the looted reign of our ancestars.
This will be our dalits well and nice congratulation to
Baba Sahib's 120th birthday celebration day. I would like
to say from my heart about Ambedkartimes.com, Ambedkartimes.org
and Ambedkar Times news paper of which editore Mr. Prem
Kumar Chumber ji who is realy a creditor of great appriciatation
